Broadridge Barn is a low carbon conversion of an existing barn, set within the landscape of a rewilding project.

The design preserves and celebrates the existing timber portal frames with their distinct plywood gussets, while strengthening the structure with a new timber frame. A strong emphasis was placed on local, bio-based materials with the Douglas Fir frame and Larch cladding sourced within 20 miles of the site.

The building is founded on new drained gravel trenches allowing significant depth to be achieved without the use of concrete. Clay plaster for the internal walls was produced on site using the excavated material.
