Three Perpetual Chords was commissioned to replace Barbara Hepworth’s Two Forms (Divided Circle), after it was stolen from Dulwich park in 2011.
The three cast iron sculptures describe the 2:1 (octave), 3:2 (perfect fifth), and 4:3 (perfect fourth) harmonic, intervals popular in western musical theory. They are arranged to follow one after the other, creating a new route for visitors through the park.
