This converted Victorian methodist church in Islington, London provides a colourful co-working space that doubles as Surman Weston's own studio, with potential for future domestic use.
The feature folded plate stair is subtly hung from the timber roof trusses by a steel diamond grid. We carefully considered the detailing and deflections of the stair so that fragile stained glass was able to be set within the grid.
