This West London co-working scheme provides desk space for 250 people, along with four private meeting rooms, a photographic studio, a café and a cultural venue.
Created within a rambling period property that housed Richard Rogers' first office, we designed a series of set-piece interventions - most notably an irregular labyrinth of glass pods supporting a mezzanine over. We also back-analysed and upgraded some of the original Rogers' feature structures including a bow string trussed roof and the elegant central stair; reputedly designed by David Chipperfield.
Environmental Engineers Richie + Daffin developed a system for filling the clear double-layer courtyard roof with soap bubbles, providing a transient measure to insulation and reduce solar gain, as weather conditions dictate.
